BEYOND THE LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

The EMC Competence Center has firmly positioned itself in the automotive market over many years. That is no mere coincidence, because as an efficient partner we not only satisfy the after-sales requirements, but also many, further-reaching, individual needs of the global OEMs and major automobile manufacturers.

Our service portfolio includes tests within the context of the Automotive Directive and according to factory standards, which go far beyond the legal requirements in qualitative and quantitative terms. To this end, we make use of the latest testing instrument and most modern methods, in which we will continue to invest in future. Our main concern is initially the observation of the legal requirements according to Directive 2004/104/EC, the so-called Automotive Directive. The specific requirements which the automobile manufacturers define in their own factory standards, however, go far beyond the legal requirements. Therefore, for the conduct of tests, highly-developed accredited test procedures are just as indispensable as special equipment, requiring extremely expensive investment by the testing laboratories. The EMC Competence Center has many years of experience in the conduct of non-harmonized tests and has state-of-the-art technical equipment, so that even the most complex tests can be reliably conducted.

Of course, the EMC Competence Center is recognized as a technical service by European motor vehicle licensing authorities. It is thus authorized to conduct physical type tests according to the Automotive Directive – the prerequisite for attaching the e* symbol. This licensing method is dealt with completely by us. The EMC Competence Center offers DATech accredited test procedures for the conduct of tests according to special factory standards (AEMCLRP etc.).
